This part of the city is an entertainment district in Midtown San Antonio. Located northern part of “the Strip” it encompasses the sections of North St, Mary’s that is bounded by Mistletoe Avenue, as well as Grayson Street. It has been situated adjacent to the Pearl Brewery and it has become part of the rapidly redeveloping corridors of central San Antonio.
It has been referred to as “San Antonio’s first entertainment corridor” with some drawing comparisons between the district and Austin’s Sixth Street during the heyday. The Strip experienced the first golden era during the 1980s and early 1990s with estimated 15,00 people frolicking just to attend an MTV block party hosted by Daisy Fuentes.
The street has been recently revitalized because of the sudden millennial activity in the area. New bars have opened up to complete the character of the older establishments.
